Why should I have to be troubling myself about a group I joined?

I have spent more than a few hours thinking and trying to work out stuff in my head.

Basically is NOT MY PROBLEM!!!!...Final analysis..

I am not a moderator...but just cared about people's feelings with a couple posts...

People mailed me...I answered.....

SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO TAKE 'STOCK' OF WHAT PEOPLE WANT AND THEIR REQUESTS....

I would not like the group I joined to fail...but if there is no answer from the MODERATOR of this group...I fully support....

I shall be (as requested) opening a new one.

P....

Ps...you all know which group....please do not let it close.

I too would be sorry to see the group close. And really, there is no need - I've seen arguments just as fearsome on other groups and various forums. You cannot expect to bring people of divers beliefs together and not have the odd firework.

I was away at the actual time of the problems, but having read through group posts for quite some time, I feel that it was bound to happen sooner or later, given the circumstances...

  The thing is....it wasn't his moderation that was questionable...but his comments that turned into a witch hunt ultimately. I was unaware of ANOTHER blog on a different site...that was even more condeming before I did try and stand up for him. He could have been a little more diplomatic to people's thoughts.
  
  I am hoping that she will not close the group, but nothing has been posted for days...I have even submitted a new post.

    Hi P, sorry to trudge this up, i am not a member of that group so it took me a while to track down what was you were talking about. I have sat for the last hour reading the post and comments made on it. I completly understand your frustration in it all.

      Not just my frustration but that of others....and now all is in 'limbo' as we do not know whether the owner is going to keep the group running as no word from her.
      
      However, contingency plans have been placed with a new group to run on the same lines...but hoping it is not needed and the old group will surface.

  I don't know....I submitted one a few days back and there has been nothing posted since she posted her one a few days ago.
  
  I will give it a few more days and if nothing I shall open my own...hope you will support it.

    Would definitely support it Pauline. I was rather disappointed with the whole 'you are not right and they are not wrong' tone of the most recent post.
    
    Whatever has happened on the group, one should at least respond to its regular contributors.

      I spent forever reading every comment and responding to every comment...and it wasn't my post. I tried to calm the waters so to speak.
      
      Like you I am not a christian but would never decry the belief...question a comment yes..but that is question not decry.
      
      Let us give it a few more days and see what is happening and see whether anything gets posted..if not I shall open a new group as it is a much needed one.

To be honest Pauline,i have seen much worse situations than the one you are referring to.
People resort to calling abusive names to each other's dieties,Religious books and to each other.
Things did go wrong but not to that extent. I understand why the owner of the groupo was so upset,but then why not move on?
I have contacted the Ex-Moderator,he replied,and he is Ok.Not happy about what happened but he is not going to jump in front of a train

  I did read EVERY COMMENT...and some comments were off topic...but could have been dealt with a little more diplomatically.

  I did not start the 'witch hunt' I tried to quell it. I understand other people's feelings on this...and have told them....I have also mailed STMSS through and given her my support. As yet no reply.
  
  It was a well worded post....and I understand...so do many others, but she left no room for comment...had she done so she would have realised she had support.
  
  The group is a well loved one and well supported and no one would like to see it die.
  
  She should move on...put another post up....I gave her an easy one which would cause no offence.
  
  No one doubted his moderation, just his comments and some of those should have been JUMPED ON before this situation arose.
  
  Hey tell him from me.....pleased he is not jumping infront of a train....messy business and problematic cleaning rail lines....
  
  All he had to do was apologise for some comments.

And same here i am no Christian either. If no more posts appear by the weekend,you may start another group and count me in. The debate should go on,and shouldnt stop due to one incident or the departure of one or few people.

  I will let you know....A new group has been considered and a moderator in training. No mean task being a moderator.
  
  Posts have to be considered.....then common sense in not posting two topics the same on consecutive days...time allowed for people to post comment etc...
